Seeed Studio RPLiDAR S2 Laser Range Scanner is a low-cost two-dimensional laser ranging radar (LIDAR) with a 360-degree omnidirectional laser ranging scan within a 30-meter radius of a two-dimensional plane. Furthermore, the scanner generates a flat point cloud map of the space in which it has located information. Cloud map information is implemented in practical applications such as mapping and surveying, robot positioning and navigation, and object/environment modeling.
The Seeed Studio RPLiDAR S2 Laser Range Scanner employs laser time-of-flight ranging technology, coupled with the high-speed laser acquisition and processing mechanism developed by SLAMTEC, which can perform 32,000 ranging actions per second. The RPLiDAR S2 utilizes non-contact energy and signal transmission technology, overcoming the life limitation of traditional lidar, and operates reliably and stably for a long time.
The RPLiDAR S2 offers a stable-ranging performance, compared with other series of lidars, when detecting long-distance objects, switching between black and white objects, and strong light directing objects.
