Texas Instruments bq25180EVM Charger Evaluation Module (EVM)

Texas Instruments bq25180EVM Charger Evaluation Module (EVM) is an integrated battery charge management IC that integrates the most common functions for wearable devices. These functions include a linear charger, regulated output, manual reset with timer, ship mode, shutdown mode, and advanced power path. The low quiescent current during operation and shutdown enables maximum battery life. The Texas Instruments bq25180 supports charge currents from 5mA to 1000mA and battery regulation from 3.5V to 4.65V. The input current limit, charge current, regulated SYS output, and other parameters are programmable through the I2C interface. The battery is charged using a standard Li-ion charge profile with three phases: precharge, constant current, and constant voltage. The device also boasts a low pin count to support low-cost PCB manufacturing processes.

Features

  • Fully configurable 1A linear battery charger
  • Advanced power path to the power system through either battery or adapter
