Texas Instruments TPSM63603 Synchronous Buck Power Module is a highly integrated 36V, 3A DC/DC solution that combines a shielded inductor, power MOSFETs, and passives in an Enhanced HotRod™ QFN package. Each module has VIN and VOUT pins at the package’s corners. These are for optimized input and output capacitor placement. Four larger thermal pads beneath the module enable a simple layout and easy handling in manufacturing.
With an output voltage from 1V to 16V, the Texas Instruments TPSM63603 is designed to implement a low-EMI design in a small footprint. The solution requires as few as four external components and eliminates the selection of the design process’s magnetics and compensation part.
Even though it is designed for small size and simplicity in space-constrained applications, the TPSM63603 module offers many features for robust performance. These include precision enable with hysteresis for adjustable input-voltage UVLO, resistor-programmable switch node slew rate for improved EMI, integrated VCC, and bootstrap and input capacitors for increased reliability. It also includes higher density, constant switching frequency over the full load current range for enhanced load transient performance, and a PGOOD indicator for sequencing, fault protection, and output voltage monitoring.
