NXP Semiconductors PCA8561AHN-ARD LCD Driver Arduino® Shield is a demonstration and development platform for the PCA8561 18 x 4 LCD Segment Driver. The PCA8561 is an ultra-low-power LCD segment driver with 4 backplanes and 18 segment-driver outputs. The PCA8561 supports an I2C- or SPI-bus interface. The device integrates an internal oscillator, bias generation, instruction decoding, and display controller. The PCA8561 is AEC-Q100 Grade 2 qualified for use in automotive applications.
The NXP Semiconductors PCA8561AHN-ARD LCD Driver Arduino Shield serves as a daughterboard that can be connected through an Arduino port to Arduino-compatible development boards for demonstrating the characteristics of the PCA8561. The PCA8561AHN-ARD Shield communicates through the Arduino connectors with the host device via the Fast-mode I2C-bus. Alongside the I2C-bus, three additional digital lines allow the development board to control the device through the same Arduino port. The PCA8561AHN-ARD Shield is also powered via the Arduino connectors.
The PCA8561AHN-ARD Arduino Shield is designed to work with the i.MX RT1050 EVK Evaluation Kit (MIMXRT1050-EVKB), the LPCXpresso55S69 Development Board (LPC55S69-EVK), or the i.MX 8M Mini Evaluation Kit (8MMINILPD4-EVKB). If the i.MX 8M Mini Evaluation Kit is used, the Arduino Interposer Board (IMX8MMINI-IARD) is also required.
