NXP Semiconductors FRDMGD3160HB8EVM Evaluation Kit

NXP Semiconductors FRDMGD3160HB8EVM Evaluation Kit is a demonstration and development platform for the GD3160 Single-Channel Gate Drivers. The GD3160 Gate Drivers are designed to drive SiC and IGBT modules for xEV traction inverters, OBC, and DC-DC converters. The GD3160 features integrated galvanic isolation, a programmable interface via SPI, and advanced programmable protection options, such as over-temperature, desaturation, and current sense protection. The GD3160 Gate Drivers capably drive SiC MOSFETs and IGBT gates directly utilizing high-performance switching, low dynamic on-resistance, and rail-to-rail gate voltage control.

NXP Semiconductors FRDMGD3160HB8EVM Evaluation Kit includes a half-bridge Evaluation Board populated with two GD3160 Gate Drive Devices. The Evaluation Kit also includes the FRDM-KL25Z Microcontroller Board FRDM-KL25Z for interfacing a PC installed with FlexGUI software. The FlexGUI software allows communication to the SPI registers on the GD3160 Gate Drivers in either daisy chain or standalone configuration.

FlexGUI

FlexGUI is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) software tool enabling easy and intuitive configuration and control of the target device on the Evaluation Board. FlexGUI can be installed on any Windows 7, 8, or 10 based operating system and runs on Java 8. It uses a USB port to interface with the evaluation boards.
