STMicroelectronics X-NUCLEO-OUT15A1 Expansion Board provides a powerful and flexible environment for the evaluation of the driving and diagnostic capabilities of the IPS1025HF Switch IC. The IPS1025HF is a single high-side switch IC able to drive capacitive, resistive, or inductive loads with one side connected to ground. The IPS1025HF features a wide 8V to 60V operating range, a low 12mΩ on-state resistance, and a <85µs propagation delay time at startup. These features make this device ideal for applications implementing the proper architectures to address higher SIL levels.
The STMicroelectronics X-NUCLEO-OUT15A1 Expansion Board includes Arduino® UNO R3 connectors. The Expansion Board is designed to be used with the STM32 Nucleo Development Boards, such as the NUCLEO-F401RE or a NUCLEO-G431RB. The X-NUCLEO-OUT05A1 Expansion Board, based on the IPS1025H High-Side Switch IC, can also be added to the system evaluation.
Supplying the X-NUCLEO-OUT05A1 through the main supply rail and the X-NUCLEO-OUT15A1 through the output of the X-NUCLEO-OUT05A1 creates the typical architecture of a single channel digital output for safety systems. The process stages of the two Expansion Boards result in a cascaded system. The load connected to the X-NUCLEO-OUT15A1 output can be supplied only when both cascaded systems are properly working.
