Texas Instruments TCAN1162EVM Evaluation Module

Texas Instruments TCAN1162EVM Evaluation Module is ideal for getting started on development with the TLIN1162 family of devices. The device is easily accessed via test points, the J7 header, and a DSUB9 connector, standard in many automotive applications for cabling. All pins are available through headers or test points on the TCAN1162EVM. Additionally, an integrated LDO with output is available through a test point.

Provides access to the CAN bus, TXD, and RXD pins to monitor CAN signaling and communication
WAKE switch circuit to allow for easy wake up from sleep mode
CAN bus faults available through the TS pin and LED indicator

Required Equipment

Power supply capable of supplying the desired and/or necessary supply voltages
- VIO can be supplied through the J2 banana jack
- VSUP can be supplied through the J3 banana jack
An oscilloscope, to observe any logic signal or CAN bus signal, make sure to verify the voltage tolerance of the probes, as well as the impedance and capacitance – these can significantly affect what is seen on the oscilloscope screen
A function generator capable of 0V to 5V, a square wave with a frequency up to 2.5MHz
