Skyworks Solutions Inc. Si894x-ISO Evaluation Kits evaluate the Si894x galvanically isolated Delta-Sigma Modulators (DSMs) for their full functionalities and features. These Si894x delta-sigma modulators output a digital signal proportional to the voltage level at the input and are designed for low-voltage and differential signals. The Si894x isolated DSMs are ideal for measuring a voltage across a current sense resistor or for any place where a sensor must be isolated from the control system.
The output of the Si8941/46/47 devices comes from a 2nd order delta-sigma modulator. This can be clocked either from an on-chip oscillator (Si8946/47) or from an external clock (Si8941). The output is typically filtered digitally by an MCU or FPGA in the system. The Si894x-EVB provides access to the device supplies, inputs, and outputs. This allows lab bench evaluation with typical sources and loads or integration into a customer system for observation of real-world performance.
