Allegro MicroSystems A31301 3D Linear Hall-Effect Sensors are flexible, three-axis Hall-effect magnetic sensor ICs capable of measuring the applied flux density in any 1-, 2-, or 3-axes and calculating the angle in up to any two user-defined planes. The A31301 comes in three standard field configurations of ±600G, ±1400G, or ±2000G. These 3mm x 3mm x 0.8mm, 10-contact DFN-packaged (“EJ”) devices are available preconfigured for SPI or I2C interfaces. The magnetic temperature coefficient is customer-programmable, with a factory default trim for neodymium magnets.
The A31301 sensor ICs support two different digital interfaces for ease of use (four-wire SPI or I2C). For high-speed applications, the SPI can operate up to 10MHz, and the I2C interface operates up to 1MHz. The I2C address can be set by external resistors (16x unique addresses) or programmed into EEPROM via I2C (127x unique addresses), allowing multiple devices on the same bus.
Power management of the Allegro MicroSystems A31301 3D Linear Hall-Effect Sensors is highly configurable, allowing for system-level optimization of the supply current and performance. A low leakage sleep current makes the A31301 well-suited for portable, battery-operated applications.
