ABLIC S-82M1A, S-82N1A, and S-82N1B Battery Protection ICs provide extended battery life and higher safety and feature an ultra-low 990nA (maximum) current consumption during operation. These devices are designed for 1-cell lithium-ion and lithium-polymer rechargeable batteries and feature accuracy of overcharge detection voltage as high as ±15mV.
The ABLIC S-82M1A Battery Protection IC uses an external current detection resistor to reduce the impact of temperature changes to deliver high-accuracy overcurrent protection.
The S-82N1A features an external input to the CTL (charge-discharge control signal input) pin, which activates the charge-discharge control function and disables battery charge and discharge. The IC delivers thermal protection by disabling charging and discharging the battery pack at high temperatures by connecting a PTC thermistor to the CTL pin.
The S-82N1B features an external input to the PS (power-saving signal input) pin that will activate the power-saving function and disable battery discharge. Simultaneously, the protection IC itself suppresses current consumption to 50nA max. When the product is in storage and unused, this function extends the time until the battery voltage drops to zero protecting the product from deep discharge and contributing to better safety.
All three devices are offered in a compact SNT-6A package, ideal for space-constrained applications.
